What We Do

Our Services

Comprehensive predictive maintenance and reliability solutions designed to optimize your asset performance.

01Predictive Technology

Vibration Analysis

Catch developing faults weeks before failure. Continuous wireless monitoring and periodic route-based analysis — unified in one dashboard.

Bearing faults, imbalance, misalignment, and resonance all produce distinct frequency signatures detectable weeks before failure. Nordic deploys wireless sensors for continuous monitoring on critical assets and performs periodic route-based rounds on supporting equipment — all trending in Predictive Uptime™. Turnkey program setup or training for your internal team.

Key Benefits

Early fault detection
Continuous 24/7 monitoring
Catch faults weeks before failure
Reduced unplanned outages

02Motor Diagnostics

Online Motor Analysis (OMA)

Test motors under load without taking them offline. Catch stator, rotor, and power quality issues before they become failures.

Nearly 50% of motor failures originate in stator windings or rotor bars — OMA catches them while the motor runs under normal load, no downtime required. Nordic trends current signature, power quality, rotor bar condition, and insulation health over time using PdMA equipment. Findings cross-reference with vibration data in Predictive Uptime™ for a complete picture.

Key Benefits

No production downtime
Catches 50% of motor failure modes
Trended over time in Predictive Uptime™
Cross-referenced with vibration data

03Electrical Testing

Offline Motor Circuit Evaluation (MCE)

Comprehensive de-energized motor testing. Pinpoints winding faults, rotor bar defects, and connection problems with precision.

With the motor de-energized, MCE measures inductive balance, resistive balance, resistance to ground, and capacitance — producing a complete electrical profile. Essential for baselining new or recently repaired motors, and for follow-up when OMA or vibration flags a concern. Nordic performs MCE as part of full motor health programs or as a standalone diagnostic.

Key Benefits

Baseline for new & repaired motors
Pinpoints winding & rotor faults
Validates repair quality
Standalone or integrated program

04Thermal Inspection

Infrared Thermography

Find hot connections, overloaded circuits, and failing components before they arc, fail, or cause fires. Must be done under load — and we do it right.

IR finds what visual inspection misses: loose connections, overloaded circuits, phase imbalances, transformer hotspots, and bearing overheating. The rule most facilities get wrong — surveys must be performed under normal operating load, or you're just taking pictures of cold equipment. Nordic documents every anomaly with thermal and visible-light images, temperature delta, severity per NFPA 70B, and recommended action.

Key Benefits

Prevents electrical fires & arc flash
NFPA 70B severity reporting
Performed energized under load
Full thermal + visible-light documentation

05Non-Invasive Detection

Airborne Ultrasonic Testing

Detect compressed air leaks, steam trap failures, valve bypasses, and electrical discharge without opening energized enclosures.

Ultrasonic testing identifies corona discharge, arcing, and tracking in high-voltage equipment without opening energized enclosures — a critical safety advantage over IR alone. On the mechanical side, it catches compressed air leaks, steam trap failures, valve bypassing, and early bearing distress. Nordic deploys ultrasonic as a standard complement to IR and vibration programs.

Key Benefits

No enclosure opening required
Detects leaks, arcing & discharge
Safe on energized HV equipment
Complements IR on switchgear & transformers

06High-Voltage Diagnostics

Corona Analysis

Identify and locate corona discharge on high-voltage equipment before insulation breaks down. Used standalone or alongside IR and ultrasonic.

Corona discharge accelerates insulation breakdown and can lead to catastrophic failure of transformers, switchgear, and transmission equipment — often with no visible warning signs. Nordic locates and quantifies corona activity on energized equipment without taking it offline. Used standalone or combined with IR and ultrasonic for a complete high-voltage health picture.

Key Benefits

Tested fully energized
Locates discharge precisely
Prevents insulation breakdown
Pairs with IR and ultrasonic

Lubrication Oil Analysis

Know the condition of your lubricants and what's wearing inside your machines. Catch contamination, degradation, and component wear early.

Oil analysis is the only PdM technology that tells you what's wearing inside a machine without opening it — wear metals, particle counts, viscosity, and contamination levels all paint a clear picture. Nordic manages sampling programs across rotating equipment fleets and interprets results in the context of each machine's history. A bearing flagged by both vibration and elevated iron is a much higher priority than either signal alone.

Key Benefits

Non-invasive wear detection
Lubricant condition trending
Catches contamination early
Cross-referenced with vibration data

08Transformer Health

Transformer Oil Analysis

Dissolved gas analysis, power factor testing, and fault metal screening for liquid-filled transformers. Know the health of your most critical electrical assets.

Dissolved Gas Analysis is the most powerful window into transformer health — different fault types (thermal, arcing, partial discharge) produce distinct gas signatures that identify both the problem and its severity. Nordic's programs include DGA, power factor, liquid oil screening, fault metal analysis, and dielectric testing. When DGA identifies an active fault, we help coordinate repair decisions before a failure becomes a replacement.

Key Benefits

DGA identifies fault mode & severity
No offline testing required
Prevents catastrophic failure
Informs repair vs. replace decisions
